Saving his best for last, Sullivan Menard of Colony had his highest scoring game in the Classic championship game.

Big games bring out the best in some players.

In a slam-dunk choice, Menard was named Classic MVP – the first Alaskan to win tournament top player honors since Service’s Adam Klie in 2013.

Menard averaged 19 points and 7.3 rebounds in three games. He made 8-of-15 3-pointers (.533) and 13-of-16 free throws (.812).

Menard finished No. 2 in scoring with 57 points.

Ketchikan’s Chris Lee led all scorers in the Classic with 74 points.

Laredo United’s Andy Pompa was the only other player in the tournament to surpass 50 points in the three games.
